Thomas Edison left us this famous quote. While he is often seen as a man of “hard work,” what actually supported his life was an “overwhelming mindset” that transformed negatives into positives.
■ “Deafness” as the Greatest Gift Due to trouble in his childhood, Edison was almost completely deaf. However, he didn’t view this as a handicap, but rather as “the perfect environment to concentrate 100% on research without distracting noise.” He even humorously added, “It also saves me from having to listen to my wife’s nagging.” This is the ultimate mentality of blooming where you are planted.
■ The Inventor’s “Dark History” Even Edison didn’t have a constant winning streak. 最初の奥様へのプロポーズのエピソードがとても人間味があふれていて私は大好きです。
耳が悪かった彼は、モールス信号を使って彼女の手のひらに「I-L-O-V-E-Y-O-U」とトントン叩いて伝えたそうです。
そして彼女も、同じくモールス信号で「YES」と答えたとか。
